Privacy policy

The short version: this website doesn't use cookies, ads or tracking pixels. If you email us, we use what you send only to reply and to do the work you ask for. We never sell personal information.
Who we are
Known Quantity LLC ("Known Quantity," "we," "us") is a Rhode Island limited liability company. This policy covers knownquantityllc.com and the consulting and product work we do. Our game studio, Gimble Gaming, has its own privacy policy.
What we collect
- Website visits. Our host, Cloudflare, processes basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver this site and protect it from abuse. We may also review aggregate, cookie-free traffic statistics from Cloudflare, such as page views and load times.
- Email. When you email us, we receive your address, your message and anything you attach.
- Client projects. During a project you may share business data with us, such as CRM exports or spreadsheets. We use it only for that project.
- Purchases. Products sold on Etsy and Gumroad are processed by those platforms. They share what we need to fulfill your order, such as your name and email address. We never see your full payment details.
How we use it
- To reply to you and deliver the work or products you ask for.
- To keep the business records the law requires, such as invoices.
- To keep this site running and secure.
Some of our work uses AI tools. If you'd prefer your data not be processed with AI tools, tell us before your project starts.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent personal information, we don't run advertising trackers, and this site doesn't set cookies.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the business (for example Cloudflare for hosting, Google for email, Etsy and Gumroad for sales, and any project tools you invite us into), when the law requires it, or with a successor if the business is ever transferred.
How long we keep it
We keep emails and project files as long as we need them for the work and our business records, then delete them. Ask, and we'll return or delete your project data when the work is done, unless we're required to keep it.
Your choices
You can ask what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@knownquantityllc.com.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. To report a security issue, see our security.txt.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
